"Don't be dramatic," Althea chastised--which was rich coming from her. She started to jot down ideas and notes relating to the proposed game. "I think that's too in depth for a board game. But I like where you're going." It sounded extremely complicated and she thrived off of the drama. Despite how tragic war was--not that she actually knew, she'd never been a part of any war or battle or things of that nature--it was the perfect backdrop for an exciting game. Especially one that was filled with magic. The professor had been right to suggest an activity like this; it was way more interesting than talking about Quidditch.

"It can be a game of conquest. Whoever conquers the most land, or gold, or whatever we choose wins." She continued to write her thoughts as she spoke. "There can be different scenarios for each game played. You could play a game where the goal is to steal or amass the most wealth, or...you could play a game where the winner is determined by how much they dominated the other kingdoms and their armies. D'you see where I'm going with this?" The board could depict miniature landscape, marked with territories, castles, even moving animals. "Ooh, we can even make it so you start with certain conditions depending on how you roll the die."
"Alright," was Declan's simple response to Althea's feedback. Too in depth. That sounded about right. He was always long-winded in everything he did. He needed to fix that along with his other faults. He rubbed at one eye lazily as he listened in to the rest of what she was saying. "Let's make a simple board game, you roll the die to move your piece and there obstacles along the way. Two dies or just one? If we do two, we can give a player who rolls a double the chance to roll the die again, if they get two doubles in a row they lose a turn."

Etta HAD noticed all the eye-wiggling happening. Gosh, Declan. She had an activity to complete and he was being.. distracting. She glared at him before she turned to look at the direction towards which he'd been nodding. Oh. She turned to look at Declan again and nodded, looking slightly exasperated but smiling a little too. He was weird.

"Um.. Hi." Etta hesitated on approaching the boy because for one, she'd never talked to him before and second of all.. well, he seemed rather sad and Etta didn't want him to think she was interfering or something. Anyway yes, she was a little nervous. "Would you like to join us? If you want to, of course." She asked with a smile. Unless he preferred to be on his own, which was cool too. But please don't hate her.
While he waited for his idea to be received and torn apart, Declan glanced back to where he had last seen Etta. She had gotten his hint and he made a small 'he-he' noise that was all self-satisfaction. Declan hoped the Prefect would be at least polite. He seemed like he needed a distraction and Etta needed one more partner. Wasn't it mutually benefitial?

There was a total possibility that in the midst of Declan and Althea's back and forth, Levi's eyes became unfocused and glassy. His mouth parted, slightly, and just as he began to lean a little too sideways, one of his legs kicked forward, connecting with Althea's chair.

He couldn't say that didn't hurt but at least he was awake ready to focus, again. Like nothing out of ordinary had happened, Levi straightened nad tapped his chin, pretending to be deep in thought. The boy had, in fact, a grand total of zero ideas to contribute to his siblings and though Althea seemed pleased with this kind of lesson, Levi wished they could engage in some kind of debate about the bloody factor of the goblin wars or something of the like.

"Brilliant ideas, guys." He grinned, just as brilliantly. "Proud of your work." For sure! He also for sure needed to head back to the common room and try to at least squeeze in a power nap as soon as possible. "Hmm. Maybe there can be a deck of cards involved that can be used every once in a while that can either help the players or ruin them?" No? "Or perhaps instead of cards we can just self-rolling dice."

Levi began to hum under his breath to keep himself awake. "Someone should be taking notes of this." And by someone Levi clearly meant himself, so he went back to his parchment and wrote down what he could REMEMBER of Declan and Althea's ideas.
Declan glanced back at his siblings long enough to see Levi snap back from--what was it?--a power nap? He frowned at his brother and stared at him pointedly, reminding himself to get down to Levi's sudden sleepiness as of late. If he didn't know any better he could see some bags under his eyes. He had been chalking it up to nerves due to OWLS but maybe he needed a sleeping potion. He knew his brother was too stubborn to ask for help so he would just have to shake him down for the truth.

"So, like chance cards? Oh no, you came across a hoard of Erumpent lose one turn!" Declan dramatized as he wrote down their collective ideas, and adding notes of his own. As he scribbled and sketched ideas for the way the board would look, he hummed. "Hey..." It was a weird thought but he'd voice it. "What if the players had to face the obstacles literally."
