It never crossed her mind that her lone-wolf-schtick was not how her brothers chose to live their lives. She was perfectly content with being mostly alone. Besides...who could really keep up with her, anyway? A small twinge of regret gave Althea momentary pause, but that soon went away. Levi would thank her and Declan for taking the necessary precautions to ensuring that he was only surrounded by trustworthy and positive people.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah," she replied, waving her hand dismissively at both Levi and Daisy. She'd said her piece and wouldn't pursue the issue any further; it seemed that Levi's friend had made the smart decision to drop it. It was Daisy's persistence to claim the chicken that caused Althea's face to contort, mirroring her shock and horror. With widened eyes she shook her head. "That is nasty, you need to love yourself, girl." Maybe that was why Daisy was so defensive! Low self-esteem? Possible poverty?? Was she one of those girls who lived in a house filled with children and was forced to be subservient to the head of the household for bread and cheese??? This made Althea all the more sympathetic to her. "Glad to see you've taken the charitable route," Althea whispered loudly to Levi. She was proud of him for being such a good person, even under the duress of a maniacal portal that abducted children at its own whim.
Staring bug-eyed at Declan, she complied. "Go on, Danika, take the chicken." Who was she to stop a poor girl in need? Pulling out her wand, Althea, per Declan's (weakly worded) request, she quickly cast a cleaning spell to remove the chalk. There. Now no one would be the wiser. "Come on, you loon," Althea linked arms with Declan (to offer support), "we'll walk you back." Not that she didn't trust him to make it to the dungeons safely, but she had a feeling that he was probably more fatigued than he let on. With Amias perched quietly on her shoulder, Althea called out to her sourpuss older brother: "Walk faster, Levi. It's chilly out!"
