Not that anyone had bothered to ask but (!!!) she was having a crisis. Oh, and, yes, Declan too, but more importantly she had suffered a great ordeal. Levi and Daisy were being reassuring and she could only nod very slowly before Daisy removed the scarab from her shoulder. "Thank you," she said quietly. A shiver passed over her, and after inhaling slowly a few times, she finally felt calm.

She was stunned, however, to hear Declan shout. Don't kill the scarab?? The same insect that almost took her (and Declan's, let's be real) life? Althea stared, bug-eyed, at her eldest brother and shook her head. This did not make sense. "WHY?" Because they should be stomping it and making sure it never came back. But, she let go of her questions because she was just glad Declan made it out alive. Althea ran over to him and enveloped him in a tight embrace.

"Next time you decide to call upon ancient gods, PLEASE call someone less frightening, okay?" Because, yes, they'd done this but not like this. This was much too much; if their mother knew...she'd wring their necks! "About the scarab...," she started and took step away from Declan to see if the insect was nearby. To her dismay: it was still alive and...was it looking at her? She willed it to go away, far, far, far away.
