Mrs. Alex Turner *asterisks user* Secret Door Clearly, they were luckier than they had any right to be. The wind picked up even more and it looked like the ancient God decided to float away. Just like that. He didn't curse them for interrupting his rest to ask about a library, he didn't kill anyone and Declan was back. He looked shaken, sure, but at least he was back.
And he had brought a friend?
The vision of a bug making its exit through Declan's mouth froze her for a while and that was why she probably didn't really register what was happening straight away. Her eyes had followed the scarab to Althea's shoulders but only once Levi said her name did the Slytherin focus again. ... Merlin, they were being loud! "Right, right. Sorry." She mumbled at the Gryffindor, throwing his brother a quick look. He didn't look too bad but who even knew where he had been? "Althea, you are fine." She told the girl once she turned back to look at her once more. Somehow it didn't make sense that this girl who had seemed tougher than old boots would be scared of bugs. It didn't seem real, but very little did in the present moment. Daisy lifted one arm towards the girl's shoulders and hesitated for a second, looking at the scarab. Gah. Bugs were fine, but she hated touching them. Still, it was preferable to touch the bug and not get punched by a Hufflepuff, which was the likely thing to happen otherwise. "It's a tiny bug. Harmless, really." She carefully grabbed the bug with a grimace and was quick to crouch down and release it on the floor. Harmless, yes. Gross-looking? Definitely. Bleh. The scarab moved around for a bit and Daisy prayed to all the Gods that hadn't killed them tonight that the bug decided to fly away and not onto Althea's shoulders once more.
She would definitely get punched, then.
Still crouching down, she looked at where the Kenning boys were. "Is he alright?" She asked Levi, more just to say something and lose focus of something she had only just realised. She was painfully, dangerously out of her depth. |
