Slate scrunched his nose up while watching the other boy. "Are those supposed to mean something to me?" he asked. "Are those languages? They don't sound like languages." It sounded like something made up. Like pig Latin. He wasn't falling for this.

"I'm sure they always move. Like a dog's tail." That made sense to him.

"Why are they down here, do you think?" That was the important question. Slugs didn't just slug around indoors in castles as far as he knew.
