Gid's eyes were right focused only on Gwen now. What in merlin's name was she talking ab...out. A box, that was cursed. Okay now if he'd even considered that there was going to be a problem, perhaps he would have charmed the box or something. Was his instincts off? Merlin, seriously had Emily really gone and sabotaged? He never thought that might be a possibility but with each thing that had happened til this point, that was his fear! AND now there was a box that might be cursed. "Why do you have reason to believe it's cursed?" Gid asked his hand still near his wand but not taking it out yet as he rose to his feet. Why be overly worried. It could just be a box with cute monkeys.

"Do..." his words failed him as she released the box to take out her wand. He'd have preferred to secure the box before letting it go! And right in front of the minister! He heard a few saying they'd be outside, and didn't blame them one bit. He wasn't going to run though. "Okay...." he murmured his wand slipping into his hand now as the monkey floated into the air. Now what? He looked at the one covering his ears and blinked at it. He didn't realize all sound had ceased now as the room turned completely silent to him.

Now what? Was something supposed to happen? His eyes went around to the others still in the room and looked back at the monkeys again. He saw Gwen mouth some words but not speak and looked curiously at her "Are you...." Wait....he'd spoken hadn't he? Had she?! Had they both just lost the ability to speak or had he lost his hearing?!
