About as predictable as an orientation planned for January after the holiday break of most of the Ministry was the departmental meeting once everyone got back into the office. Not that it felt all that different for Simon who had been keeping a watchful eye on things in the quiet of the building. Well no…said quiet was the only marking of the charge in year besides holidays spent with Angelina and family. And this morning he had been in early as per usual to oversee the influx of personnel, especially NEW personnel.
And helping wherever needed of course.
Yet knowing of the note and time for the meeting, the security head gradually made his way up to Level 2 and towards the conference room, checking on things in passing before finally pushing open the appropriate door. Alas he was still early as only one other was already there before him. A fellow hard worker he was used to having around when others weren’t. “Morning,” he greeted Alexa simply, noting her attention on the files before her.
With enough food from his small breakfast earlier, and not in the mood for more tea, Simon bypassed the usual offerings to take a seat of his own at the table. A small pad and writing utensil removed from his pocket in preparation for anything he needed to jot down for later reference. It wasn't as if the meeting of a new department head was needed in his case.
