He was sure this was going to be a very quiet ride to School for sure. Then she spoke. "Phillips" He responded in only the same manner as she had. Last name only and in the same tone of ridiculousness that she had managed with his. "Right? Seems it's been some time." In that said time he'd had completely chopped off his Hair and just gone with something Shorter. Surprised she even recognized him.
He wasn't even sure what he could chat to her about even if their speaking terms weren't as damaged from before? What was she into again? He had noted how into Make-Up she was with the Newman Sisters, or into singing and acting out she was with the Ravenclaw Prefect Bronwyn. What could he say to break any kind of looming silence that this compartment would soon be enveloped in? He had worn Nail Polish this Summer. He does like to sing...though maybe not her style of Music?
he reached into a bag he had sitting beside him and pulled out small box. In doing so a few pieces of parchment with writing on them spilled out of the bag, but he had not payed attention to that. He held the box out toward her. "Bean?" Liv was just wiggling her foot, unconcerned about whatever inner turmoil her former bestie had going on. See, she wasn't really a girl of deep, in-depth thinking. Nope, more a "do it and see what happens" type, for sure. And well, she was here to bury the hatchet ... or whatever that muggle phrase was. She'd heard her da say it before...
Anyway, they were getting older, you realize? It just seemed entirely silly to allow whatever missteps of the past to fumble further friendship. They'd been in preschool together. Mhm. "I'll have a bean if you swear a blood oath to never call me a coward again." This was important business they needed to get out of the way. Mhm. First things things.
