Mel’s eyes lit up with laughter when he said he was scared, still, yes she was sorry she had scared him but still he was fun. “I’m sorry I scared you,” she grinned at up at him because really EVERYONE on earth seemed to be taller than her….well not Melody but she was a baby and she’d only known her for like a day?
Turning her attention back to Carl she just grinned. “Really? You mean that! I’d love it…I mean I love movies…muggle action movies are my favorites” she admitted with a beam “oh….no that’s a lie its anything funny usually especially funny action movies” she beamed at him. “The only sport I really know is quidditch…oh like water polo and and volleyball?” She grinned up at him.
Puppies were the best, “you should visit them with me…next year I’m going to try and either get a job there or well…dog sitting? We could do it together make money for fun things when we’re at school?” She shrugged her shoulder and beamed at him. “I tried to, he didn’t give many answers he was all” she paused for a moment before trying to deepen her voice to match Shep’s “that is a personal question Melbourne…it sounded very scold-y?” She looked up at him and felt her stomach flutter nervously as he had said he was touched by how she didn’t want him to change. That was good. She was glad of that.
“Well…I meant it, I still do…but change is good right?” She beamed at him she cared about him, really, and that made her all nervous at times…like telling him not to change nervous. “Um…it was nice I got to meet my absolute favorite quidditch players!” She grinned and then added, “And Mika’s best friend is like this totally wicked witch…really…I’m surprised they’re friends even? She was all…dark and mysterious and I’d love to be like her one day all strong and sure of myself?” She grinned and then flushed at the ice cream comment. “Sure…um…what kind are you getting?....the butterbeer one is pretty good” she grinned.
Laughing, Carl also ruffled Mel's hair. He hoped she did not mind - he knew a lot of girls hated it when people touched their hair (not that he had done it before).
"It's okay! I'm glad to see you." He said with a grin.
The Badger nodded enthusiastically.
"Yes, I do. I love movies too! You like Star Wars as well, right? I have all of them at home." They had talked about movies in their First Year and had discovered their mutual liking for them.
"Oh, so do you play Quidditch now that we are not at school?" He asked. Muggle sports were fun, but he thought Wizarding ones were much better. He could not play Quidditch well, but he knew he would enjoy watching and cheering in a game.
He listened as Mel spoke about puppy plans.
"Wow, that would be great! I have never considered it, but it would be really nice to get a summer job relating to animals." Dog-sitting would be a lot of fun. And the money they earned could also be used for fun things!
"Yeah, like Hogsmeade trips!" Oh... and Mr Werewolf did not give many answers.
"Of course. It must be super personal." He nodded, trying to sound serious as well but grinning at Mel's imitation of the man.
"Yep. I will change if it's a really good change." Carl said, smiling. He was genuinely grateful that Mel cared so much about him.
"Really? Do they know Quidditch players?" That was so cool! And apparently Mika had another cool friend.
"Dark? Like... she is a Dark Witch?" If that was the case, she would be cool but a bit scary.
"Oh, I was thinking of Chocolate Frog. And a scoop of Butterbeer! Are you getting the Butterbeer flavor as well?" He grinned. The smell of ice cream all around him was really tempting.
