“Bali?” she repeated. “Where’s that?” she’d never heard of a Bali place before. Looking at the two friends, Bec smiled as they both seemed excited to be spending time together during the summer. as if a whole school year wouldn’t have been enough ahem.. “That’s cool!” Good word choice right? Better than ‘won’t you get tired of seeing each other every day like that?’

………Sick plant? Checking on her? Crying?

Eeeh……oh wait! She remembered now! That day in the Gryffindor tower when Bec had seen her walk past her dormitory , crying over something. Merlin’s Beard she had almost forgotten about that. Did that make her evil? Cause obviously it mattered a lot to Dora. “Oh! yeah sure! I’m …glad you’re okay” awkward smile.

She frowned when Dora declined the gummy worm she was offering and wondered if she was one of those ‘those make your teeth rot’ people but then she smiled at Sam when she did take one. “No problem” she told the Ravenclaw. “I’m Rebecca, but call me Bec” cause everyone did. And it was so much cooler. “And you heard right, I’m going to France for a week. I can’t wait to see the Eiffel Tower, it’s going to be awesome”

Popping another gummy worm in her mouth she was going to lose her appetite soon, the Gryffindor chewed on it when the House Ghost appeared near her. “Still Gummy worms, Sir Nicholas” she said, holding out a hand with a candy inside of it. “Can you still taste food as a ghost?” if not , she would take the candy back and eat it herself….
Sam and Dora were besties, yes. But that didn't mean that they didn't want other friends, ya know. Because they did. Totally. So it was good that Bec was trying to befriend them! She was too cute for words, anyway. And the feeling important thing... DEFINITELY a first year thing. Dora didn't feel any less or any more important based on who acknowledged her and who didn't. Nope.

"Bali," she repeated. Did she not know... Oh okay. "Bali is an island in Indonesia. We go every year. It's really, really pretty." And Dora LOVED it there, even if it was kind of sad at the same time. Awwwww. Cool. Bec had called it cool. And no, it was not the same thing as seeing her all school year. Especially considering Sam had been... in a bad situation leading up to this. But again, that was not really anyone's business, really.

...how many people had this girl seen crying in the dorms? And she saw that awkwardness and the pause. No big. So when the girl finally spoke, Dora just shrugged. NBD, after all, ya know.

And well... Dora was getting the impression that the younger Gryffindor was more interested in making friends with Sam, than she was with her. Oh. Well that was fine. Just, Dora wouldn't try too hard to engage in conversation again. And she got it. Sam was the cooler one, after all. So yeah. Dora just busied herself with trying to be nosy at the other tables. She saw Chloe over at the Ravenclaw table... and considered going over, but really she had not talked much to the girl... so she just stayed put and sat awkwardly. Awesome!
