He bit into his sandwich as he pondered how to answer her question. Swallowing and taking a sip of water he responded. "I think part of it is the nature of the study. I can't just pick and choose subjects. They have to meet certain qualifications that are extremely challenging to gauge when or if they will. Additionally, I don't think we've got the buy-in of the professors. Without their assistance it will continue to be challenging."
She was amazed that he was being as forthcoming with his work as he was. Usually he was even more evasive and allusive in explaining what happened in his department. She continued to eat while he talked, nodding where she could. "Sound frustrating," she stated when he was done. "How do you plan on getting the professor's help? Will they even help?"[/color]
