Spindly Leaf #2 Dalliesa | Ab-Bot | Hogwarts Trojan War | Follio-Anmortum... Follio-Anmortum. OKay, okay, she got it! "Follio-Anmortum!" Genny stressed out loud before looking down at her parchment cage. Which was empty. Visibly and absolutely empty. "Bug??" She shrieked in a whisper level, "Dear Merlin's beard, bug???" Genny's heart sank to her ankles as she crouched down on the floor and started crawling and looking for the stupid little bug. "Where are you???" She moved slowly as not to squish the little thing with her knees or hands, she swatted at her classmates' ankles too in case they stomped on her assignment subject.
The floors were, to the professor's benefit, clean and nice but the heat made Genny's hair stick to her face as she moved around in a determined pattern. What would the professor do if the bug was forever lost? Hang her from the ankles? Turn her into a bug herself to live her life thinking about what she's done? Have her clean the castle's walls? INSIDE AND OUT? As Genny's train of unreasonable thoughts crossed her mind, her neck itched and she kept scratching and swatting at it. She was so gonna cut her hair after today's lesson, no matter what her mom would say. She was thirteen and a woman now!
Something fell on the floor right there between her knees before she made the next move... "Oh!" It was the bug, on its back with the limbs upwards. Genny couldn't tell if it was hers or not but hey! Nobody lost a bug except for her so... "Hi! Where have you been, darn it!" She scooped it up with her hand and jumped to her feet. Quickly, before the professor would notice (pft), she returned to her desk.
"Is it because you don't want me to use the spell on you?" The bug was back into the circular jail. "DOn't worry, I'm a good witch, you'll see." Pause. Wand suspended over the bug. "Follio-Anmortum." With the right swish, too.
Nothing.
"Follio-Anmortum." Left decisive swish. Nothing. "Follio-Anmortum." Genny was so focused, beads of sweat came down her temples, and the bug swirled in its spot and changed forms as intended. "Ee!" SEE?? She was a good witch! |
