Why...why was he even here? Mordred’s eyebrows were furrowed as he quickly snagged an empty seat for him and his wife and let out a sigh. The dragonologist wanted to stay at home longer with their twins, but apparently had to be in the Orientation to mingle. What for? He’d made an acquaintance last year, and that was perfectly fine with him. Without a word, he watched his wife, Sophie; join her colleagues in A&C.
Quickly grabbing a drink from the buffet table, he sauntered back in his seat and watched the others dance the night away. They all looked pathetic to be honest, and it disgusted the sulking dragonologist.
Okay, why was he here again? As he mulled the question over in his head, he can’t help but be more upset about the fact that Harmony Skylark is no longer with their Department. He thought he’d hate her because of her oh-so-positive aura, but right now, he’s sad and mad that he actually misses her. Harmony had been a very receptive and supportive bosswoman, and Mordred realized that she’s a great loss to the Ministry.
The dragonologist sat back and narrowed his eyes as he traced the rim of his glass in contemplation. What about their new boss then? Mordred never bothered to do his homework and hunt down their new department head. Again, he’s made acquaintance last year so it was unknown if he’d actually make more friends this year. He thought it was time consuming...and would require so much effort.
Without second thoughts, he raised his glass to honour Harmony Skylark one last time, and drowned his dilemma with the tender taste of Elder wine.
