Lovely™ | Captain Hurted | Ariana's Bane | Resident Antagonist | Unparalleled Delight From very early on in the year it had become clear to Daxton that Finch now had some grasp of at least the very basics of sign language. Perhaps it was for that reason, or perhaps because he was in a lesson he liked enough to generally stay in until the end, that he gave an almost imperceptible nod in response to the greeting, and left it at that.
Or... maybe not. Daxton looked down at his feet as Finch commented on them, and considered his words. After a moment, he adjusted his position so that he was cross-legged in his seat, feet tucked underneath his legs and covered, just as Finch had said. He glanced up at the professor, no insolence or belligerence in his expression. It had not been a 'smart-alecky' way to address the issue, but simply the most literal solution to hand.
Looking away from Finch again, Daxton could not hope to ignore the other students in the class acting strangely, each wholly unnerving. Though Daxton was not a people-person, he tended to keep a close eye on those around him, and he knew that plenty of these kids were speaking in a manner that was unlike them. Though he did not necessarily care why they were acting as such, that did not stop him from feeling incredibly uncomfortable, anxious, on edge. He gripped his notebook tighter and slid it closer to himself across the desk, wondering if today might be a day that he would need to make a run for it.
Ideally not, because History was one class that Daxton liked to see through until the end, but ideals, he knew, were for idiots. |
