Finished with the toothbrush, Esme gave Stacy another rinse with Aguamenti and then it was on to bathing. Hopefully this part would go over a lot better than it did with Lucy but she was a big girl and could handle things herself. Worse come to worse she would have to chase after an escaped Crup, but that was unlikely since she had a good hold on the little thing.
Scratching behind Stacy's ears she got another face lick, causing Esme to laugh. At least she was forgiven for the teeth brushing ordeal though obviously things were only going to get worse. Oh well. It looked like they would still be friends despite everything; she had one forgiving Crup. "Good girl." Everything was removed from the tub so that it could be filled with water. Normally Lucy was placed into the tub before water was added, but the other way around would probably be easier. For one thing there was a difference between having a tap that did the work for you and having to use a wand. There was no way that she could effectively hold a Crup in place AND add water at the same time. Yep, she was going to go the way that Professor Draper had initially explained because it seemed simpler. "Aguamenti."
Once the water level was to her satisfaction, Esme set about lowering Stacy into the tub. That was MUCH easier said than done with the poor creature scratching at her in an attempt to get away. Looked like someone didn't like water. "I'm sorry but you need to be bathed." Water splashing over the sides slightly, the Crup was eventually submerged. With a firm grip on the still struggling creature, she used her wand to get the rest of Stacy wet, making sure to be careful around her head. It was a good thing that she had a lot of experience with dog bathing or this would go a lot worse for her. "You are doing so good, Stacy. Soon this will be over and you will be nice and clean. Your fur is going to feel so soft and fluffy." The way that Lucy's always was after a bath. |
