It had been a very long day, and Jaemin was keen on just... getting to his dorm and sleeping. He was in no kind of rush though, because rushing meant energy, and he was too tired for high-energy rushing about. Until, of course, he heard Corny's screams from the dorm they shared. Then... well, then he definitely had energy, because something was in their dorm. Why did this seem to be a constant occurrence?!
The small boy rushed down the corridor, blinking at the bits of fluff that seemed to be flying from the doorway. What... what... he felt for his wand out of habit, because Corny hadn't said what creatures were in there, and peered around the doorway...
NIFFLERS?!
WHY WERE THERE ALWAYS NIFFLERS?!
The memory of last term flooded forward, fresh and just as painful, and Jaemin squeezed his wand tightly. They'd all gotten away last term... on his birthday... it had been the saddest day of his entire life. He was so not ready for a repeat. He was determined that there would NOT be a repeat. There were enough nifflers in their room that he could catch at least ONE and keep it.
Rushing into the dorm, right past Corny, Jaemin slammed the drawer full of a single underwear-chewing niffler shut. This was his now. His niffler. The small boy looked at Corny, then at the large, empty hedgehog cage near his own bed.
"Corny. Grab that for me!" he yelled, pointing at it with his wand. Good thing the hedgehog was nestled safely in his bag in the common room. He probably wouldn't be very happy about having a new bunkmate, but the niffler currently trapped in the drawer was going in that cage, no matter what. He'd figure out petspace later. The rest of the dorm carnage went unnoticed, because he. was. getting. his. niffler. this. time. |
