This was awful. Lynley hated apologizing for anything, mostly because she was always right. She was right here, too, but she thought she could have been a TAD nicer to Gabby about it all. Maybe.
She was quiet for a bit, eyeing the ice cream bar...wondering if she wanted to get an ice cream. The toppings looked nice...had they changed this place up a bit? It looked...different than it had looked over the summer, which was the last time she'd been here. "Gabby, how do you eat ice cream in December?" she asked, legitimately curious, because it was very cold outside!
"Yes. I don't like him because he's entirely too old for you and rushing you into all of this---" she gestured at the ring and sighed. "I guess you didn't invite me." It was a shame. Lynley gave good presents for those kinds of things. Gabby's loss.
She refused to congratulate her.
