Cornelius knew the name of the creatures. His mum had made sure to educate him on them after that incident. Even Rosie and Johnathan (who was a grown man) was there. The perks of having a beautiful former Ravenclaw for a mother meant she loved to share her knowledge. Knowledge that Cornelius will use towards his success.
Why a gytrash was defenseless against light and not fire? Cornelius bit his lip. Damn. To be honest, he had not been listening closely to his mum because Rosie had been telling him about Vanessa from primary school, and how she had stolen Mr Kenna's sandwich the day before Easter break. Double damn. Cornelius raised his hand slowly this time.
