There were a few places on campus that James had zero familiarity with. For example, Ravenclaw tower, the inside of Paul Myer's office, the Arithmancy classroom. But for every place he didn't know well, there were places he knew like the back of his hand. Walking this path back and forth had become somewhat of a second nature by now. To the point where he had gotten used to people sitting around when he had places to be and managed to get by with just quick nods and pass-bys. But today, he had some time. It was a rare occasion, one he chose to cherish appropriately. It'd be a waste to take it for granted. So as he started to make his way back down from the castle to the grounds, he did so leisurely.
Just to find a elf-sized student not in uniform. "Stopping to smell the roses?" He didn't know this one.
Munching on the gummy worms, Bec swung her legs back and forth. She was too small to touch the ground if she sat down. She was looking at the leaves on the ground, the red and orange colours looked really pretty and nearby was a pile of leaves. It took all of her will power not to jump in it because in the distance, she could see the figure of an older man, definitely not a student, walk on the path.
Recognising him as the Care of Magical Creatures Professor, Bec took a bit of another gummy worm and watched him get closer. Thinking he would walk further, the Gryffindor popped in three more of the candies in her mouth when the man stopped and she looked up at him.
“Nope” she said with a mouthful. She swallowed the candy , apologized and then rummaged in her bag. Taking out a gummy worm , she held it up.
“Just eating , want one Professor Drapes?" she asked, not realizing she had mispronounced his last name.
