"Does that happen of---" she had been looking over her shoulder back at the greenhouses growing smaller in the distance and was beginning to turn her head to face forward when the small boy who'd made the fuss just.... disappeared.

"What the..." she stopped cold, her giant boot having come dangerously close to the shrunken boy she didn't know was underfoot. She looked at the boy who hadn't said anything yet, wondering what he possibly could have done. As that boy bent down, though, Nicky did as well and narrowed her eyes as she considered. Reaching down, she pinched the back of the teeeeeeny boy's robes and lifted him up off the ground to set in her other hand.

"I could put you in a jar and keep you as a pet, you know," she teased, wondering what on earth to do.

Never without his companion, Airey was taking advantage of the the crisp fall weather and fact that students were in class right now and the grounds would be quiet for a leisurely walk. Not that he did not enjoy the random run ins with students while walking Pebbles - and she certainly enjoyed the interactions - but it was also nice to have some quiet time with just his thoughts. Well, his thoughts and the dull thumbing of Pebbles as she tried to keep up with his lanky strides.

...........................sweet solstice. WHY. No, really. WHY was it always Ravenclaws?

And particularly ONE Ravenclaw.

Looking at you Mr. Prince.

"Mr. Prince...Miss Iver...." he said upon approach. "If I am not mistaken you have Herbology at this hour." Cue an eyebrow raise as he looked back and forth between the two, still unaware of the tiny Gryffindor being pinched between the sixth year's fingers. "Or perhaps you are still looking for the girl's lavatory?" He paused to give Pebbles' pink leash a bit of a firm tug for her to catch up as she had clearly gotten distracted looking at a random blade of grass. "Now, do I need to escort you back or will you ------- SWEET SOLSTICE!"

Is that. How did. What did? Who did?

WHY WAS MR. BLAISE TINY?!

"Someone care to explain why Mr. Blaise is fairy sized?"

Looking at you, Miss Iver.

Tiny. He was now perfectly squishable and he did not remember signing up for this. Who did this sort of thing anyway and why did it ever seem like a good idea? He seemed to remember a conversation last term with Professor Myers where he told him exactly how he felt about magic and the man goes and forces magic on him? It was enough to have the young boy kicking at the dirt--which had much bigger particles now--and yelling words his mother would scrub his tongue for a month if she ever heard him say in his newly acquired tiny voice (which only served to aggravate him further).

In the next second, he saw his life flash before his eyes for two distinctly different reasons and it shut him up immediately. Eyes very wide now with his hands moving to protect his head any way they could.

Oh Merlin. This was it. He always KNEW magic was gonna be the thing to kill him, but he always assumed it would be his own wand and more along the lines of not working when he needed it to. Circe, to think he accused Hirsch of trying to kill him when it was Myers all along---eh?

"Put me down! Putmedown! Putmedown! Putmedown!" Blaise's arms flailed wildly on either side in an futile effort to free himself from the girl's grasp. Could this day get any worse????????? As if on perfect cue, the universe sought to answer that. Yes. Yes it could. "Professor Airey heeeeeelp meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!! Professor Myers SHRUNK ME then LEFT ME TO WANDER THE GROUNDS WITHOUT SO MUCH AS A WARNING AND I DON'T WANT TO KEEP BEING THIS SIZE! HE DIDN'T EVEN TELL ME I WAS GONNA BE SMALL, JUST DID IT AND I WANT TO HAVE MLE CONTACTED PLEASE!" Surely this broke some law or the other. Child endangerment?

Daxton shot a look at the other girl. She was no longer under any Blaise-related suspicion, not after it had become clear that Blaise's predicament was simply an effect of Myers' literary themes lesson, but he had been getting a closer look at Blaise when the Gryffindor was rudely taken away. He straightened, making no comment (obviously) about the girl's potential plans to keep Blaise in a jar, apparently more concerned with brushing the courtyard-dirt from the knees of his trousers.

And then... the thud. Daxton recognised that thud. He would have called it The Thud of His Nemesis, were he not being careful to avoid personifying the stupid rock in the same way that its owner did. Either way, the sound of that thud always preceded the sound of a certain Astronomer, and though Daxton often found himself wanting to provoke or antagonise him into a reaction, this was one situation in which he did not want to be noticed at all.

Looking up, he found that he was (obviously) correct. Airey Flamsteed was heading straight towards them, dragging that infernal rock behind him on its stupid leash and going on about how they should be in Herbology. Daxton took a quick survey of the surroundings; they were outside, so there were was plenty of space, an exit in practically every direction, and they were by no means trapped. If he moved fast enough while Airey Flamsteed was distracted, he could make a run for it. He was not going back to Herbology, escorted or otherwise.

Starting a little at the sudden loud exclamation regarding Blaise's recently acquired tiny stature, Daxton looked back at the Gryffindor, who immediately launched into his tiny tirade. Perfect. A perfect distraction. Airey Flamsteed would probably be more concerned with the state of one of his Gryffindor charges, deciphering the angry and high-pitched yelling (which was incredibly pervasive and overwhelming to Daxton's already overworked ears), and the apparent safety risk. If there was ever a chance to run, it was now.

Daxton glanced from Airey Flamsteed, to Tiny Blaise, to the girl who had now been identified as Iver, then back to Airey Flamsteed. Not wasting another second, he suddenly made a break for it. If he reached the castle, there were plenty hiding places and secret passageways provided by the castle on the way to the seventh floor, and he could be at the Room of Requirement in barely any time at all.

Every man for himself.
