It was clear she was tired and probably long overdo for a break. Which was why she had taken a few spare moments to head outside and get some fresh air. Some very much needed fresh air at that. Normally she would grab some lesson work, a book or even just parchment to sketch on but not today.

Today it was just her. Not even Hagan. Hadleigh made her way into the courtyard taking in a large breath of the cool air. She hadn't gone to far when she spotted James sat on a bench reading. Not wanting to seem rude because she did like the man and he had helped her so much she stopped for a moment to say speak quietly and not completely disturb him. "Hello Professor." Nothing more, nothing less.
Courtyard was proving to be a good choice in venue. The background noise wasn't all to unbearable, and he liked hearing the birds chirping in the background. It sure beat being cooped up in his office all day long. Next time he ought to bring some of the student essay's out here too. It'd make grading them an ounce more enjoyable... Maybe.

Just as he began to turn the page, he heard Hadleigh Lynch greeting him. Though at the exact second he didn't know it was her. Realizing that maybe coming out here on such a busy day wasn't the best idea, he marked his place in the book and closed it to-- Ah, Hadleigh. He liked this one. "Miss Lynch," he gave her a small grin and a nod.

He had wanted to talk to her actually!.... And that didn't happen very often. Normally it was the students seeking him out. Right, anyways. "I'd like to apologize for how little time we had to talk at the feast," it was a mess. Clearly. But for the important stuff... "How was your summer?"
