He looked towards the end of the table and smiled as Penelope spoke. "Our Head Girl might though. She's pretty wonderful." Quote:

She was not being sent back to their dorms hungry today, nuh-uh.
Sam was distracted from the thought of food by a new person, and she smiled friendlily. It was weird thinking that had been her last year. How much things had changed.
"Welcome to Ravenclaw!" she said with a grin, before tilting her head at the younger girl's fascination with the crockery. "I'm Sam, secon' year...'n' the 'ouse elves will be terribly disappointed if yeh find sum dirt on their clean plates." Maybe? Probably.
Hang on? Did she just hear right? "Congrats!" she exclaimed, turning to look at the new Head Girl. "Dat's awesome news." It was pretty awesome to have two in a row for the House, right? "Apar' from dat, did yeh 'av a good summeh?"
She was turning back to talk to the new firstie, when she saw someone else a bit further down the bench. Someone looking less than happy to be at the feast, and that wasn't right at all. She scooted down to him, and spoke quietly. "Yeh 'lright there?" Quote:

He's sister said it would be his only hope of growth. He'd practiced so hard over the holidays. If only the real thing was the same as talking to oneself in the mirror.
"Uh.........I- uh.." he's stammering was as present as usual. He tried to continue and pretend he wasn't embarrassed, but deep down it was impossible not to feel ashamed. "F-fine. My-I-I'm Eth-Eth-an". What? A big kid (Rooney), not that she wasn't a big kid, but a BIG kid had just walked up and sat down and... told her that the plates didn't bite? (Louise preferred not to think about the Head Girl biting. She added "stay off her bad side and avoid the Head Girl at all costs" to her list of things to do) Sam, a kid only a little bigger than her mentioned something about house elves. What those were, Louise had no clue, but she figured that she would find out sooner or later. Maybe she would go exploring to figure it out sometime. "Oh. The... house elves.... do the dishes then." she said with a little sigh of relief. She didn't know what she would have done if she had been forced to do all those dishes. Would Mum and Dad have let her come home? But then she wouldn't be allowed to use magic ever again, not that she knew anything about magic yet. If she went home now she wouldn't know what she would be missing... but wait. Why was she thinking about going home? She wasn't being forced to do the dishes and so she wasn't going to need to go home at all. So there.
Louise firmly put the thought out of her mind and instead focused on the other boy at the end of the table that was stuttering out his name- Ethan, was it? He looked terrified of the entire group, especially Sam who was talking to him. Because she had nothing better to do than inspect the plates, Louise slid her way down the table next to Sam. "Hello. I'm Louise"
