 Constant Vigilance! O_O AWAKE!
Isabella was really trying to keep track of all the names of her new housemates. Esme, Norah, Prefect,... there were a lot. After she heard like the fifth person's name, she knew she didn't really have a chance of remembering. That was okay, though, since she was new. New people generally got a pass when it came to remembering people's names. Also, asking random people what their name was could be a great icebreaker for the first week of school.
"Everybody's really nice! I like that everybody knows each other," she told Carl. Isabella wondered if Carl was right about the cat at the front table being a new staff member. She had never met an animagus, so she really hoped so. It would be something fun to write in her letters home. "Did you like being a Hufflepuff when you got sorted?" However long ago that was...Isabella didn't know what year Carl was.
As the cat turned into the headmaster, Isabella gasped. Carl had been right! She was a bit intrigued at the whole headmasters switching between schools (and disappointed that they hadn't gotten the Castelobruxo head), but for all she knew, it was normal. Neither her parents nor any of her aunts and uncles had really talked much about what was normal or expected at Wizarding school.
And then there was a ghost! Isabella grinned when she saw the Fat Friar, but was much more interested in the food that had just appeared. She started to fill her plate, but ended up eating and then filling and then eating and refilling because she had gotten really hungry in all the time that had passed since her last snack on the train. |
