Then, her second feast was ruined by two poltergeists, and she had to spend both nights hungry. Moreover, she had managed to do about 0 of the things she had promised herself - being the leading points earner; having a few hardworking, good friends; making every professor know her name... she was a complete failure, but that was going to change next term. She had already finished studying the second year's History of Magic textbook and was onto the Potions now. Over the summer, she was going to finish all, and THEN everyone would see what she was capable of.
Hopping onto the train, she entered the first empty compartment she found and shut the door closed. She didn't want to be disturbed. The thing was, Charlotte Kettleburn was a) not a mind reader and b) not particularly predisposed to NOT disturbing people. It was her GENERAL STATE OF EXISTENCE. She was LOUD even when she was quiet, and right now was no exception as she basically BURST into the compartment, and in a whirlwind, flopped dramatically in the seat opposite the first year.
PHEW.
PHEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.
She had to unpack her TRAIN SUPPLIES. That meant candy (in packets that rustled annoyingly), a magazine (with shiny shiny pages), and best of all, a wind up radio on which she could listen to the WWN. EVERYONE LOVED THE WWN!
OOooooh an AGROMANTULA SONG! Charlotte hummed along and unwrapped the rustly wrapper of a particularly noisy piece of candy.
