He probably got lonely for attention sometimes since cats weren't exactly teeming around Hogwarts. At least he had Hady and her! "Sparkle is good! I keep her safe so that the nasty Hag can't do anything." She gently petted her pocket so that the Puff gave a little SQUEAK from the attention.

Let's see the old bat try and get her now!

Talking about careers was pretty interesting even though she wasn't sure what she wanted to do yet. Esme supposed that she would work it out soon enough; she had loads of time before she graduated. "Oh, that's really interesting. Animals definitely need healers as much as people do. Are you really good at reading creatures then?" Since they couldn't exactly talk, she thought that was a valid question. "I'm not sure what I want to do," she admitted. "I don't think I really excel at anything other than Divination."

Aime was a nice name. "So he's a nice snake then? What kind is he?" She supposed he must be harmless since Hady got him when she was eight.
