Conrad would've answered the shopkeeper but the boy he was standing beside had screamed and he was fairly certain hearing loss was occurring right now. Yes, the Behrmann boy looked downright horrified by the kid's behavior because his parents would've killed him if he'd ever acted like this. Maybe that's WHY the kid felt free to do so-no parental supervision. It was a theory. NOT one he felt comfortable exploring, but still.

Unnecessary demonstration indeed.

"I'm uh...all set with one of those, but thanks for the tip." They were interesting as far as inventions went but Conrad couldn't see himself ever getting any joy out of owning anything like that.

"You mentioned the puking pastilles?"
