But it should be, because that dumb troll wizard should have known better to be honest...He was trying to make a Draught of the Living Dead by some reason." he said frowning in disapproval "other then being extremely complex it's also very dangerous and by law only certified Potions Master can brew it and they have to have a certain permit in order to do so. But I guess this one's guy will to give it to his mother in law a nice rest for a year or too was too strong. What a git.." he clapped his hands once and grinned with humor at was coming up "So, the genius brewed the potion wrongly of course and once he gave it to her, in her afternoon tea, it did the exact opposite. She became exhilarated and it was like she had eaten raw coffee. She was quick to assume he had been trying to poison her and all hell broke loose as you can imagine.." he chuckled a few times, served him right.

He then proceeded to hear hear explanation about how she balanced her intake of chocolate and sugar and her calorie burn count. He still thought of her as being somewhat weird. But he was sure she wasn't an immediate danger to him at least. He tipped his head to her "If you say so! Though I still think a dozen is still too much, but I'll compromise on 6" he gave her a playful wink and added "Maybe chocolate is the fuel of Aurors?"

He laughed at her joke, his mother would like that, she kept saying that his name had power, like the legend of the Gallowglass warriors and that he should take it seriously and be proud of it. But when you're 5 years old, it's hard to like such a name complicated name...he eyed her tray and gestured towards a table nearby. "Sit maybe?" he suggested before diving into her question "I worked as a Potions Master assistance for a few years after Hogwarts, then did some extensive research on potions and herbology, about 7 years on the field I guess? Those were the golden years to be honest." he pondered for a moment. Yes those were indeed the golden years, the best of his life despite all the tents, allergies, attacks and close calls he experienced. He didn't regret it one bit. "But then as I got older the thought of having a permanent position, some sort of security in life, became quite attractive to be honest. So here I am" he opened his arms around the room. "What about you?" he asked her. She looked younger than he was. Maybe she came straight from Hogwarts?

It took everything in her to remind herself that now she WAS the law and had to agree with his statement. In truth, it mattered very little to her what was and wasn't against the law when it came to things she wanted but what sort of message would that send, hm? Should she decide she one day needed that potion, she'd brew it, but for the sake of the conversation, Alexa nodded along as if in perfect agreement as he spoke. "Oh Merlin, that's a tough break right there." Mothers were strange things and came in many varieties. Hers hadn't put up much resistance in the end, death took her without hesitation--but her step-mum, CIRCE, there hadn't been a thing she hadn't tried and the woman was alive today. Similarly, this poor bloke's potion was a dud. "I feel for the poor guy. Should have just cut his losses and brewed a proper poison the first time." THAT was how you killed someone. "Shouldn't of left it up to chance. Tell me he got arrested for his stupidity."

What was this compromise of which he spoke? "There is no compromise with chocolate frogs. I'll take substitutions..." Like...like moscato laced devil's food, "not outright compromises." His joke of it being Auror food though, that got a laugh out of her. "Try coffee. That keeps most of us going for days if we need it to."

Lex had only just handed over her galleons and turned to the table he was gesturing to when his words fully processed in her mind. He WANTED stability and security in his line of work? A curious look settled on her expression. How...odd. "That sounds like the exact opposite of why I decided to be an Auror." The day this job became 'safe' was the day she would have to reconsider her career path. "Before I got here, I was taking Ravenclaws to the bathroom because apparently that's the job of the Head Girl when you're at Hogwarts. Not warning Professors about dangerous books that happen to be possessing people, or trying to give them descriptions, but potty relief." Lex could have done without her final year of Hogwarts, in fact she could have left after her 5th year when they dropped the first badge on her.

"Did get a small break while I waited to be accepted into the YATI program though. Used to to travel and see what the world's really made of." Which had been interesting.
