His eyebrow peeked at the mention of her university work, which earned her a rather intrigued look. "I'd say the art of curiosity is one of the hardest things to master, but the most rewarding."
Turning about, Rhydian straddled his chair so that he could face her properly, resting his arms over the back. A low whistle of consideration left him as he grinned at her. "Polished huh? Mighty kind of you to say so." At least someone appreciated the hat. She had to be the first, and for that she earned extra points. Perhaps he'd stick around. "But for me, such personal care is the limit of my own artistic endeavors." His smile widened as he tipped his head to the side. "Though I'd say it has a similar magical quality to it as trying to unlock the mysterious minds of people who take less interest in their personal polishing."
The fellow seemed to have a bit of a fascination with his hat and her brown eyes were drawn to the way his hands fussed with it upon his head. "I've been reaping the benefits of my curiosity for as long as I can remember," she replied confidently but without and indication of feeling smug about such things. "Not all that hard to master if you have been encouraged to pursue it."
Which she always had. Or at least interpreted that that she had.
The whistle, while eliciting a subtle eye roll, was appreciated enough that she shifted just a little bit in her seat so he could appreciate with a little more ease. At least he wasn't trying to be subtle about it like more of the fellows on campus were. It was a bit maddening to glance over her shoulder at a pair of eyes that had obviously been looking to find the person awkwardly snapping their head in the opposite direction and fumbling about to look inconspicuous. "Quite welcome," she replied with a grin.
Her lips curls at his words, catching his emphasis quite clearly as relief set in her doe eyes. "Are you implying that I take less care?" she inquired, leaning one elbow on the table and resting her cheek against that hand while her other padded the empty seat next to her. She liked to believe she had a mysterious mind and therefore would be accepting that part of his compliment.
