Lake creatures weren't as exciting as non-lake creatures. Or... exciting wasn't the problem. Cleanliness was the problem. The lake was dark and cold and muddy, and Dot wasn't dressed for it at all. Sure, she'd been swimming in it, but only on bright days where she could see her feet squelching in the mud and identify grindylows from 100 yards out.
Hopefully, they were NOT going in.
"They can swim, sir." Dot flashed a brief smile at the professor. No one had said that, right? "Or, that's to say, mobility in water is part of their physical make up."
