"Great Scott," Art muttered to himself, as Mr. Reed came to again, but promptly vomited. Art blinked a few times. Yes, the smell was making him nostalgic of the old days, his Healing training... He was being begged by the young man to do something. "I'll... I'll try to Mr. Reed," Art said. But the next minute, he seemed to have a young Ravenclaw on his leg. "Err..." he said, but then... WATER! SHOWER! "Pleh! PLEH" he said, "Mister.. MISTER LEONARD!" he said to get the young man's attention. Not that a spray of water was likely to kill anyone.... and then... "MISTER MERIWETHER!! YOU'RE SPRAYING US!" he bellowed. Not in an angry way, of course, but a STOP IT way.
But a glimpse of Miss. Pinkerton-Oliveira crawling under the table. "Oh, up you get Miss. Pinkerton-Oliveira," Art said, pulling her out by her leg. NO SLEEPING. He was not going to let any student sleep! Great SCOTT, no. "Stand up, young lady, that's the girl, up-up into the chair," he added, plonking her down and making sure she wasn't about to topple over...
He went to help other students, and almost slipped in a pile of vomit on the floor. "N-nevermind Mr. Thomas-Borzekowski," he said to the young lad, pulling his wand out and vanishing the vomit. "I-I'll try to... to err... to figure out what's going on," he said. "Miss Kennedy," he said, giving the young Ravenclaw a trapezius squeeze to wake her up. "WAKE UP!" At least she was sitting, rather than on the floor. Merlin, they all wanted to sleep! But there was another one on the floor. "Miss. Guidry, up you get," he said, pulling at her arms to get her into a standing position. "Up you get," he said, directing her to sit down. "That's it, that's it." There was another one, Mr. Song was on the ground, as was Miss. Darcy, Mr. Choi slumped across the table, Mr. Browne's items were flying and, there were girls crying everywhere... Great Scott, no, he was not experienced to deal with tears. "Bless you Miss. Andrews," he said to the sneezer. And then someone threatening to get him fired? Well, he wasn't sure they need bother.
Art knew something was wrong. But what...?
He went over to his desk and picked up each of the ingredients, looking over it to assess it. Had he picked up a poor quality ingredient from his supply cupboard? The Bezoars looked normal, smelled normal, and had crushed normally. There was nothing wrong with that. The unicorn horn was certainly fine, and of good quality. The Mistletoe berries had the correct hue. He crushed one in his finger and smelled it, it was normal. He picked up a supply of Standard Ingredient and had a smell.
That was it.
His heart fell.
Rather than the lemon, minty scent Standard Ingredient SHOULD be like, all he could smell was... was parsley and thyme. "Great Scott!" He yelled. "S-someone has... has... has TAMPERED with the Standard Ingredient," He announced to the class. They were all poisoned. Their antidotes, as well as his, were duds. "I want you all to tip your antidotes down the sink." He, himself, took the lid off his and tipped it down the drain. Gone, gone, gone.
It was useless anyway.
And then Mr. Salander pointed out the obvious. "Yes... YES OF COURSE!" He went to his desk, rummaged around in his supplies, and pulled out the vials of antidote that he had previously brewed, a month or so ago. He took some clean cups from the shelves, and counted them out. One for each student. He poured the correct dose of antidote into each cup; 250mL. He knew his students were incapacitated, so he went about handing them out to everyone. "Here, drink this, quickly now, one gulp, that's right, down the hatch," he said, repeating himself as he went about handing them out. "Everyone is to drink the antidote immediately," he said.
He. Was. Doomed.
Headmistress Moxley was surely going to give him a warning or something. He... no, he had taken the Standard Ingredient from his stock that morning. He thought back to it. It was normal then. It had the correct smell... the correct look. It had been tapered with sometime between after dinner, and only a matter of hours ago.
Yes, someone must have tampered with it.
Was it a student? Or.. "Peeves," He said to himself. "Could it be?" The pesky Poltergeist had been pulling pranks as far as he could remember. Why he himself had been pranked many times by Peeves. But surely he wouldn't have done that... OOC: Okay, Art has discovered WHY the Potions didn't work!
He has come around and given you ALL a cup of the Antidote which WILL work.
I'll be ending the lesson in about 12 hours, and closing the thread in 24 hours, so you have up to 24 hours to COMPLETE your 5 brewing/3 drinking posts for full marks.
If you've NOT finished, then ignore Art handing out the potion until you have finished with your brewing/drinking posts.
You can post as many times RPing the effects of the Poison wearing off, and explore the aftermath of your character. It's up to you whether your characters remember anything (hallucinations), etc. but all effects will have worn off. Quote:

“evanesco” she muttered cleaning out her cauldron and pointing her wand again she continued to magically clean and get rid of all of the potion she had made. “I…I was just wondering because if its bad supply perhaps its something that happened in the shop?” She offered as explanation. “maybe its just a bad supplier?” the first year was trying to make sense of everything…the words she was thinking she was saying made sense to her but at a barely audible voice and throwing in the fact that she was mainly going ugh and making awkward moaning sounds well…that helped people not understand a word she was saying. Madge was suddenly handed a cup of something by the professor. A real antidote? She downed it immediately and her face twisted at the taste, or perhaps the poison had played with her taste buds and this was supposed to taste good? She wasn't sure.
The burble in her stomach died down slowly but steadily until she felt as if she could stand up long enough and steadily enough to sit back in her chair. Thank goodness the fabric she had tied around her wild hair was tied tightly still, or she'd probably have vomit all over her hair.
She looked about the classroom at the students coming out of their stupors and hallucinations. The classroom was, well... a wreck.
Madge raised her hand, though in this chaos she wasn't sur eit even mattered. "Professor, would you like me to help with righting the classroom? It's..." she took another look around the classroom. There were cauldrons upturned, vomit, vials of ingredients not where they should be... "A bit of a mess after that ruckus..."
