Default Post 1 : Drinker
Snuffles Sweetness | Sirius is my veil dancer

SPOILER!!: Jace

As soon as his partner picked her poison, Jace lead the way back to his work station, and neatly arranged the ingredients in front of them. He even got out the tools they needed, like the cauldron, stirrers, and the like. He'll get the burner later on. The Ravenclaw nodded, and grinned at Elsa. "It is, my brother also graduated from there." And he missed them loads, because he didn't get to see them last Christmas. They both opted to stay in Japan since they have a lot of work to do. "I am half. My papa's British." Ryden has been very busy too due to the fact that he's moving back to the United Kingdom to work for the Ministry. "Oh, you are?" Jace turned to face her fully, really interested with her ancestry and all, "I've never been to Portugal. Do you miss home though?" Because he does. He can't wait to board the plane in a few months and join the bright summer festivals in Tokyo.

Elsa got a bright smile from Jace as she spoke of the bezoar. He could tell that she knows her stuff as well, so he thought, this partnering up thing is not so bad after all. The Ravenclaw had to clamp on his mouth to prevent himself from laughing too hard. Instead, giggles came out of his clamped mouth. "I wouldn't want horns on my head...but I think it'll be interesting to sport around. You know, for research purposes?" Merlin, his Ravenclaw is shining through today, isn't it?

Jace glanced at the professor, wondering if they could start already? He's all pumped up and ready to go, Professor Ratman!

She mimicked Jace’s moments, gathering her things on her side of the table, stacking them in a neatly balanced pile. Better have them here at hand before drinking that mild-poison thing, she thought to herself.

Woah, Japan, that was really far away wasn’t it? She nodded as he talked about his family. What were the odds? Their families and lives were quite similar seeing as she was half British too. She gave Jace a shy smile once his full attention was on her, his curiosity in her story evident “Yeah, I’m half British too though, on my mother’s side” she played with the little cup of poison in her hand “I miss it very much some times, mainly my friends, but my mum insisted I went to Hogwarts to get a proper education” she shrugged a little and looked some what apologetic “I’ve never been to Japan either, I bet you miss it too” she added with a knowing look, studying his features.

She chuckled at his reaction at her “horns” joke, also covering her mouth with her hand to muffle them. She winked at him again and added “You’d just have to be careful walking through doors and stuff. I could help you with the research part!”.

SPOILER!!: Professor Art
Art noticed Mr. Browne and Mr. Reed hadn’t found partners yet, but just as he was about to assign the two together, they found their own partners. Art turned his gaze around the class, watching the students plan their Poison adventure together, and find partners. He looked at his watch to make sure they were on time. As students came up to get their ingredients, and their little drink of elixir, he gave smiled and nods, but Mr. Meriwether had brought a chuckle to the man. Art gave him the taster. From the corner of his eye he saw Miss. Neverwinter slide down the seat a little. Perhaps if she saw just how fun her classmates were having brewing and drinking, perhaps she’d feel like joining in. Otherwise… well, otherwise he was out of ideas.

He walked to the blackboard and wrote the method of the potion on the board for the students to reference.
He turned back to face the class, ready to get started!
“Okay now, everyone has their ingredients and their little cup of the elixir?” he asked, looking around. “Err… those who are drinking the elixir may do so now, and those brewing the antidote can get started now.”

Art himself had set up his own space with the equipment necessary to brew the potion. He added one bezoar to the mortar, and used the pestle to crush that stone into a very fine powder. “Now, you want to make sure that you put your elbow into it. Crush it into a powder as fine as you can. Any chunky bits might affect your potion.” He carefully tilted his mortar so that they could see his own very fine powder of bezoar.

OOC: I’ve modified the method slightly, so it doesn’t exactly match up to the Pottermore method. Removed the wand-use, and waiting 40 minutes. IC this is just Art’s tried and true method.

Drinkers: Drink your elixir and start having fun with those MILD side effects - dizziness (please no fainting), drowsiness, slight headache, stomach ache, nausea/vomiting, coughing, sore joints, thirstiness, blurred vision, slight behavioural changes (crankiness, restlessness, irritability, or even euphoria and giggles… + any other mild behavioural changes you would like to RP), and any other MILD general side effects you would like to RP. You can have as few or as little side effects as you want to RP – I just hope you have fun with it! But nothing serious! No fainting, no dying etc.

Brewers: Start up!

If you still don’t have a partner, that’s okay! Just pretend you do, and you can still RP taking the ‘poison’ elixir, and then brewing (whichever order you want). If you DO have a partner, I think about 5 posts each, minimum. Feel free to do more if you feel sprinkled with creativity dust. I’ll resume in about 2 days, and then swap, so that those brewing can try the ‘poison’ elixir, and those having been poisoned can brew the antidote.

You don’t need to wait for your partner to post between your posts.

I’m still here, checking in as much as possible, so if you want Art’s attention, just flag it in the subject box and we will get to it as soon as we can. I’ll brew along with the class, but please don’t wait for me! Keep going at your own pace.

DRINKERS: DO NOT drink the Antidote to Common Poisons until Art tells you to!

But then the teacher spoke again, and she automatically sat straighter in her seat, listening. She didn’t want to mess this up. She couldn’t, not when we were talking about mild-poisons and antidotes. She wrote down the tips the professor had just given on the same piece of paper she had noted the ingredients.

She took one last look at the little cup in her hand, before averting her eyes to Jace “This is it, wish me good luck! And I’m sorry if I vomit on you or anything” better safe than sorry “Be sure to crush that into oblivion!” she added with humor. With a determined last glance to her new Ravenclaw friend, she raised her cup “Bottoms up!” and downed it in one gulp.

SPOILER!!: Jace!
Oh so they can start now? Jace watched as the professor revealed to them the instructions, and followed him with his eyes as he began to crush his bezoar. Before starting though, Jace's hand flew up in the air, wanting his question to be answered. "Professor? How does the other ingredients affect the potion's strength? Is it to cover the wide assortment of poisons, or is it just to reinforce the bezoar? Also, isn't the bezoar enough to cure a mild poison in the first place?" So in other words, do they really need to brew it?

The Ravenclaw lowered his hand, pulled his parchment and quill, and started to jot down notes. He will need to go over it again once class is done. Apparently, this potion seems to be a very important one; every witch or wizard must have one in his or her pocket.

Jace nudged Elsa gently, and gave her a smile. "I'm going to start now. Hang in there, okay?" The Ravenclaw didn't wait for her to answer because any moment now, she won't be feeling too well. The Ravenclaw made a quick dash towards the sinks, washed his hands...dried it, and went back to their station. First things first! Jace got his mortar and pestle, cleaned them with a cleaning spell, which by now he had obviously mastered, "Scourgify!", and dropped his bezoar in it.

Crush, crush, cruuuush.

Well that was… interesting. She heard Jace’s question to the teacher but she kept sucking her inner cheeks, trying to get rid of the taste in her mouth. It wasn’t particularly nasty it just.. stuck to her teeth. She looked around, feeling completely normal “That wasn’t so bad” she said, turning herself in her stool to look as Jace worked the bezoar rock with strength and determination.

BURBLEBURBLEBURBLE

She looked down at her belly in awe, then looked up an giggled.

BURBLEBURBLEBURBLE

That didn’t sound so promising. Her head started to wooze, and she felt drunk-like, WOAAAH it was like she was consecutively apparating for the first time. Her stomach shrunk to she size of a nut, and little beads of sweat started to form on her forehead. She wiped the palm of her hand to clean it and noticed her vision was a bit blurry.

She leaned on the table and groaned a little as she looked up to Jace’s face again. I’m ok, I can do this! Her face was two shades whiter and the beads of sweat kept accumulating and dripping. Her brown hair was starting to stick to her forehead and neck. The pain in her stomach had subsided a bit, but her head was swaying like an old sailor muggle at sea.

She gave him a faint smile of reassurance: “Ahoy! Keep up the good work mate” she said with another silly giggle “Oh Merlin who enchanted the ceiling? So many stars…” she was now looking up. Ok, maybe she wasn’t as OK as she thought she felt.
