Seeing one kid stand up and wander on his own, James grew curious. And this was his answer. The boy was small. Very small. Minuscule, even. By himself. And interesting. A perfect candidate.
So James followed after him, staying a few paces behind as to not look too suspicious of following. Just a casual day on the Gryffindor retreat. That's all.
With his stomach now full, Sam was ready to get a move on with his adventure. He was hoping to have seen Genny at some point by now, but she'd probably gotten distracted with something and missed lunch completely. And he was much too excited to see Potter Cottage to wait for anyone. After all, he could always come back to find her. Or she could be sensible for once and come find him!
So, on his own, or supposedly on his own, Sam trekked forward along the main street in the direction of the old Potter residence. His eyes caught on all the houses as he passed, taking in all of Godric's Hollow along his way. The walking, which was a tick faster than usual because of his anticipation, was making him a little warmer, and the eleven-year-old reached up and unzipped the top part of his jacket. Aah. Better.
And suddenly, there it was - right in his line of sight! He may have unconsciously gaped up at it for a moment, but it was only a mere moment before his feet were moving swiftly for the front door.
