Since she'd made her first cut, Dot had been constantly measuring and refitting her rootstock and scion against each other, and she was full of confidence that the two trees would combine seamlessly now. It helped to pay attention and not hope for the best at the end. Especially when you were generally rubbish at a subject.
The two angled stems fit together like they were one tree, although the rootstock was just the slightest bit thicker than the scion and left a little ring!gap of wood around the edge. Dot was quick to wrap the tape extra thick around that part, just in case it mattered.
And now the new spell! "Jungo Arborem." Dot glanced up at Dima's question, because that was hers as well. How could they tell it worked?
