Once the words felt at least mostly familiar in Dot's mouth, she was ready to add the wand to her casting. Intent was easy for her, at least with Charms, although Dot wasn't sure if it was skill or stubbornness or some combination of both. Either way, she settled into the wanting her spell to work properly, the shoes to dance, as she pointed her wand at the clay slippers.
"Piertotum Locomotor Annexus." The slippers took on a blue glow for a moment before it faded... but nothing happened. They just sat there, like the cast offs from a show that no one had attended. So sad. "Dance," Dot whispered, lifting her wand and her whole body at the same time. The shoes lifted too, the right one going up on pointe and the left sliding up to rest above an invisible knee.
Just exactly how Dot was standing. "Dance more," she put her feet down but imagined herself taking the next steps, foot slipping out and away, the other following in a leap and a glide. And her shoes danced too! Would this work on her real slippers? What if she wrapped some of her hair in with the threads she used to fix the soles?
"Leap! Spin." The shoes dancing a choreographed routine Dot knew by heart, made her heart light and a giggle escaped before she could catch it. Transfiguration should NOT be fun.
