Default Gryffindor Retreat to Godric's Hollow



Join your fellow Gryffindors on a weekend excursion to the birthplace of Godric Gryffindor himself - Godric's Hollow. Historically important to the wizarding world, this retreat offers the unique opportunity to get to know your housemates outside of the castle through various exuberant activities and insightful reflections.

OOC: Please be sure you have posted in the sign-up thread BEFORE posting here. Sign-ups will remain open during the duration of the retreat for those joining us a little late.

Arriving safely at Godric's Hollow around noon, the first stop on the agenda of the day was lunch at Marmalade Majesty Bed & Breakfast where you will be staying this weekend. Stomachs full, approximately an hour and a half of free time has been scheduled for all to explore this historic area before the main activity of the day is to take place. Be sure you take advantage of this opportunity, if may help your team achieve victory later
Places of interest:
Potter cottage: Home of James, Lily, and Harry Potter. Partly destroyed after Voldemort's attack in 1981, it had been left in its ruined state and made invisible to Muggles, as a monument to the Potters and to Voldemort's first downfall.
Potter memorial: A statue depicting James and Lily Potter holding baby Harry.
Bathilda Bagshot's home: The house of Bathilda Bagshot. Nagini attacks Harry and Hermione there in 1997. can go inside; renovated as a History of Magic museum
Dumbledore's home: Home of the Dumbledore family before the death of Ariana Dumbledore. can go inside; renovated as a Dumbledore family history museum
Graveyard: The local cemetery has among others, the graves of the Potter, Dumbledore and Peverell families.
Parish Church of St. Clementine: The local church.
Church Lane: The area of Godric's Hollow that leads up to Clementine Church
