Transfiguration was officially Carl's favorite subject. It was just so magical - turning the form of an object into something else. Not that he had managed to do much transfiguring in his few months at Hogwarts. The best he had done was to turn a match into a needle. He had almost jumped off the Common Room couch out of excitement then. Grinning at the memory, he walked through the door of the classroom.

"Good morning, Professor Ichihara!" Carl said. He hoped he looked presentable beacuse he definitely did not want to be known as a slacker. Not in this class, anyway. On his way to find a seat, he noticed the tapestries hung around the room. Cool! He was not sure if they were for the lesson or for decoration.

The words on the board were even more confusing. 'An unfamiliar familiar' ... What did that mean? Puzzled, he made his way to his desk.
