Herbology was never going to be Dot's favorite class, but the professor was definitely her favorite professor. Even if he made her get dirty and had her digging around in poop, he was a person that Dot believed really cared about her, about his subject, and about whether they left the class smarter. That was a nice feeling. It didn't mean he got a flower today, but he knew. He was getting mental flowers.
For now, Dot found a spot in the middle of the greenhouse and watched her classmates settle in around her. "Good day, professor. I like your baby trees. Do they have names?" If not, she was good at naming things.
