Garrick or Garrett somebody.” Or Garth? Who knew. Jelly slugs? Ice mice? More gibberish. Lucian gave the boy a disdainful expression before softening a little. "Why I was very fond of boiled sugar plums back in the day." How long had it been since he had one of those? Shame he couldn't eat one now.
Four hours? Imagine if you had to wait four hours to get your picture taken. There would be no pictures of Olly, that was for sure. He could barely sit still for twenty minutes let along four hours. Wow. How awful. Maybe that's how this guy had died. Of boredom. Which reminded him of another question.
"How did you die?"
Wait, back to his original line of questioning. He had been going somewhere with that.
"Why did you have a portrait painted? Was it because you did something interesting?" You never know. It was possible that he had just happened to have a portrait painted and only became famous after the fact. It seemed unlikely that someone would willingly sit for four hours without a good reason, but still possible.
