"Violetta is a tough nut to crack," he told Hadley with a sympathetic smile, though he was always amused with her attitude. "She just needs her ego catered to." The Ravenclaw could try that or she could talk to a different portrait, didn't matter to him. Quote:

Saying that, she linked her arm through the other girl's so that they were bounded by the elbows.
Hoping that Haddie would stay, she smiled at Kitty and the other boy (Tenacius) who had joined them. The Eagle giggled. They all seemed to be rather taken with Augustus's hair. But it was bittersweet that the portrait's human counterpart died of old age. "What did he do for a living? You human counterpart, I mean.'' Haddie simply nodded to at Professor Finch, but didn't say anything back. Great, just what a class should teach, how to stroke the ego of a splattering of oil paint on a canvas. All the while Rach was being Rach, linking her arm in Haddie's and trying to smooth things over for the Californian girl.
Haddie wasn't in the mood though, honestly. Not for chatting with any other portraits, or writing the paragraph, and definitely not for presenting. She also wasn't in the mood to argue with Rachel... would Rachel be able to sense that? Still, she was going to try at least once. "Counter offer, you help me sneak out unnoticed, and I give you my cupcake at dinner tonight." She grinned, hopeful.
