She was confident that Ava would be able to do so and she wanted another demonstration before she tried the escape part for herself.

"No pranks, okay?"
Rachel still vividly remembered the bit of shocks she had received in Sugarplum's last year from the girl. She reached for one of Ava's wrist to firmly grip it. ''Ready when you are, Ava.'' She trusted that the Gryffindor would not go too hard on her so as to cause her pain.
To be honest, Ava still doubted to partner up with someone. What if she injured her partner? And in this case, the partner was a girl who was smaller than herself. Well just... control yourself, Burton. This was just a practice. "Okay," The young lioness said and slightly chuckled when Rachel mentioned about a prank. Nope, there's no room for a prank in this class.... for now.

Rachel started grabbing her wrist and it's not that hard to break her grip because it wasn't hard enough. She twisted her own arm and pulled it backward to break her grip. See? It was easy. "You should've gripped it harder." She said. Once Ava broke her grip, she gave her a strike on her solar plexus with her palm heel. At least they both wearing the protective gears so it wouldn't hurt.... Right?
