Ailsa stayed fairly quiet as the other students gave detailed and interesting answers. For the first real time she felt a bit of loss given her mostly muggle upbringing. The moving pictures and paintings tended to freak her father out a little to begin with and since they largely lived in the muggle world it didn't really do to have such things around for visitors to see.
Even here at Hogwarts she hadn't really had much interaction with such paintings. The weather had been too nice for her to stay inside with the paintings and as interesting as they might have been it just wasn't a simple matter to bring one along with her for an afternoon under a tree as she could do with her books. Aside from having observed that they were a thing, Ailsa didn't have anything to share.
