I'm dreaming with my eyes wide open

Oh joy! The FIRST question the professor asked, and Garreth already had a story to tell! Perhaps it would be best if he kept it as short and concise as possible, but any way you sliced it, the most exciting tale of portrait interaction that Garreth had to tell was a long one. How to keep it short? Hmm...

Either way, he only had a few short moments to think on his answer before it was his turn. The boy beamed enthusiastically up at Professor Finch and, forgetting his social anxiety for a moment, began to speak: "I haven't had much opportunity to speak with any of the portraits here at the castle, Professor, but I did learn a story from a portrait back home in Grimsby." he did hope he wasn't already boring everyone, including the professor. "In the library at home, they have a portrait of Gifford Ollerton, the famous Giant-Slayer! I used to spend a lot of time at the library and spoke to Gifford on a number of occasions. He once told me of how he saved Upper Barnton from Hengist the Giant, who was terrorizing the town!" the boy beamed with enthusiasm, and he may not have been fully aware that he was beginning to ramble on. "I must say, his version of the story is a lot more interesting than anything I've read in the history books!"

Perhaps the story of Gifford Ollerton and his Giant-slaying adventures wasn't making any headlines in the storybooks that Garreth had read, but at least they were mentioned, and that was the most important thing. Garreth would hate to have been a famous giant slayer and then be ignored by the history books! "Not that the history books are boring or anything..." he was quick to add.
