Penelope Would they be learning about non-magical means of self defense? She would use her Ravenclaw wits to assess the situation. Why was she being attacked? Did the attacker have a wand or other weapons? Was there anywhere to hide? Could she run? Use some nearby object as a weapon? Climb to higher ground and jump at her attacker? "Depends on the situation, my surroundings, if the attacker has a wand, and the physical strength of the attacker. I would assess the situation and use my wits to figure out what to do. Might run, might hide, might jump at the attacker." Jumping at the attacker would be only for if it had to come to physical combat, a surprise attack.
Dima had said something about wandless magic. Smart idea, if one knew how to use wandless magic. Young wizards and witches used magic without wands, but that was unfocused and mostly unintentional. Wands helped focus magic. Maybe intentional wandless magic would require extreme focus and concentration. This was a topic that she would have to research later. Wandless magic sounded incredibly intriguing. She would have to ask Dima what he knew about it.
