"Colloportus," she repeated. "Got it." Then there was a demonstration, which was SUPER helpful, and of course Thornton got it on the first try. She'd hung on to every word and every move of the demonstration this time. She had her own, personal Ravenclaw helping her! Could she GET any luckier?! "Okay..." She had this. Shifting the box to her left hand, she gripped her wand tightly in her right hand.

"COLLOPORTUS!" she called out, enthusiasm and intent and all the good things hopefully showing in her words. She'd also remembered the wand movement this time, which she thought she managed to do just as Thornton had taught her. it helped that she was starting to remember locking and unlocking charms from when she was homeschooled by her mom.

There was another clicking sound, and as the cabinet re-locked, Ariadne's eyebrows shot up in surprise. "WHOA. I wasn't expecting that!" she exclaimed. They were ON A ROLL now!!! "What do we do next?!" she asked with excitement. Weren't there other students moving on? Could THEY move on, too?!
It seemed like his new first year friend was getting the hang of this, which Thornton found encouraging. He did take a quick glance around the room to see if anyone needed obvious help, but most had managed to pair up with someone who knew what they were doing.

"That was really good," he said as she locked the cabinet. "Really." But what was next... oh, right. Thornton looked at the box in his hand and then over at the box in hers. Now all that was left was to open the box and get the code.

"Alohomora again," he said, in response to her question. "Just this time, on the little box." He glanced at her again, pondering. "If you're worried about your aim, I'd put the box on the floor..."

For his own part, Thornton held his box in his left, hand, brandishing his wand with the right.

"Alohomora!"
