Sha was even MORE amazing really. She was like her cousin and then she saw another girl who looked a bit…stressed? Watching Sha move closer to the girl Mel did the name.

COUSIN? Did she say Cousin? Mel’s smile broadened again and all she wanted to do was give Sha a BIG old hug because…well, obviously it meant that Thunder viewed her like a kid and that was just…she loved Thunder. Really. He was going to get ALL the boy related questions not her silly brothers. They were silly. “Hi,” she smiled at the other girl as today was a beautiful day and she had cousins in school with her! “If you need help I’ll practice with you…I probably need more work too” she admitted with a grin after all learning the spell wasn’t the hard part…it was making it become fluid like a muscle memory that was the hard part.

Then, she found herself surrounded by older girls offering her pretty much the same advice. Which was totally a good thing because that's how you knew it was the truth, if more than one person said so. Lucy smiled up at them and the other girl who looked more her age. "Thanks."

"Al-LOH-ha-MOR-ah," she repeated to the girls. "Al-LOH-ha-MOR-ah?" Okay, it made sense that she had to pronounce the funny word correctly for it to work. What was new information to her - well, everything was new, but this especially - was that she had to wave her wand....not in a wave? In an 'S'? That was a thing?

Lucy pictured the cabinet opening, waved her wand in an 'S' in front of it, and said, "Alohamora," correctly this time. Then reached out and...shook the cabinet door as it was still locked. She looked up at the older girls expectantly because....it didn't work.

Turning to the younger girl, she offered encouragement. "You're getting the hang of it. Just keep practicing and don't lose your focus. You'll get it. Sometimes it takes a few tries for everything to click." Sometimes it took a lot more than a few tries, but Janelle kept that to herself. She didn't want to crush her confidence.

In the meantime, Janelle put her box back on the floor and dropped to her knees. The box had to be opened and she might as well get comfortable. Concentrating, she carefully carried out the wand movement and said, "Alohomora". Janelle made sure she said the incantation clearly, taking care to pronounce each syllable correctly. Since she was trying to set a good example, she had to get it right.

Fortunately, when Janelle checked, the box was unlocked. Now all she had to do was find the code inside of the box and make sure that the other girl completed her task too.

Marsha wasn’t sure what she had said that made Mel look like she could burst, but happy bursting was much better than sad bursting when the tears don’t stop and you look awful afterwards. Nope, she was quite happy to make Mel THAT happy whenever she was around. Family was supposed to help and be nice like that… it just didn’t always work. Especially not with as large and dysfunctional a family as their own. In fact… Individually hers was insane. And Melon’s was crazy… Now that they were linked she didn’t know if ‘dysfunctional’ was … well weird enough to describe it properly.

Holding her box under her arm, she watched happily as Lucy attempted the charm again. She shot Janelle a grin when she told Lucy that practise was important and it could take a few times. She knew that it could definitely take time. She didn’t know how long she had tried to practise starting a fire before Professor Maddox had told her that she was butchering the charm and had helped her. Sometimes a gentle nudge was all it took… and her Professors and fellow students had certainly helped her when she had just started out so now it was her turn to help.

As Janelle continued to watch the younger Ravenclaw try to open her cabinet and offer her more advice, she turned back to her own cabinet so that she could lock it. She double checked over her shoulder if Melon had followed her so that she could teach her if she had. With a smile, she spoke to Mel so that they could both try this together. Their cabinets WERE right next to each other after all.

”Okay, so. The counter-charm to the locking spell which is Colloportus. Slowly, that is cull-low-PORE-tus.” She gave Mel a smile as she waited for her to repeat it. ”Cull-low-PORE-tus.” She said again nodding. ”Yeah, that’s good. Great even. Okay the wand movement is like this.” Shows a flourish of her wand, where she pulls the wand to one side and then back across to where she started. Again, the Lioness waited for her cousin to practise and to copy what she had done before grinning at her. ”Amazing. Okay, lets try this together. Remember to think about the fact that you are locking the cabinet and no-one else should be able to open it when you are casting.”

Turning back to the cabinet, Marsha held her wand up and said firmly, ”Colloportus!” She smiled as she heard a click. When she tried to open the cabinet door it didn’t move.
