The knock on the door was a pleasant surprise for the professor, who had been making himself some tea and getting ready to head outside to do some pruning, and perhaps brushing some of the flesh-eating firs' teeth.

He didn't mind the visit, though. Not one bit!

The door opened, and he poked his head out. "Oh, hello, Kaycee! Come right in, m'dear!" he waved her inside.
