Since Austin was still new at this whole 'making friends' thing, he decided to go at it alone. That didn't mean he wasn't open to first years joining him. It just meant he wasn't going to seek anyone out. It was only the first class. The teen had all year to make friends.

Stepping in front of an empty cabinet, he pulled out the wand from his leg holster. So convenient. He thought. Before casting the spell, he thought it was best if he inspected the cabinet first. Not that he didn't trust the professor. But it was more so he knew there weren't any explosives... or anything. He walked around it once, knocking on the back to make sure there wasn't a secret door. When he had come back to the front, he tried the door on it, to make sure it was locked. Which it was. Look, there was no harm in checking, right?
