Sweet solstice. Teenagers. Professor Flamsteed's warning reached his ears loud and clear, and as notable as it was, he couldn't help but avert his gaze and smirk a little. Heh. He exchanged a quick glance with Frankie but then nodded the Professor's way. "Sorry Sir, won't happen again, but thanks for noticing," he smiled politely. Yes, THANK YOU FOR NOTICING OUR MUSCLES, PROFESSOR FLAMSTEED. We work out.
Setting into his seat, getting comfortable, Zeke continued to sip at his coffee. Text Cut: Meeting/Flamsteed Quote:

Please feel free to move about to grab more food and drink during its entirety. I personally guarantee that nothing here will turn you into something emulating a werewolf." Because that much had become apparent to the man after catching the various questioning looks. "As you may or may not know, I am Professor Flamsteed, although you may call me Professor Airey if you prefer, and I have the honor of serving as your Head of House." He was also their Astronomy professor, but he was not acting in such capacity right now and therefore superfluous information.
"As you are all well aware, I called this house meeting in light of the events of last night," he continued, his gaze not falling on any one Gryffindor in particular but rather sweeping over he entire crowd. "Now, some information has been brought to my attention as to what and why this food fight was initiated in the first place and I will echo the words I shared with those who orchestrated it. Feeling slighted is never a reason for retaliation in the form of bullying. Gryffindoring for the sake of Gryffindoring is not constructive to anyone, and my challenge to you all this term is to turn that you channel that energy. Too often Gryffindors are placed into boxes and written off as this or that, but when I look out at all of you I see a generation ready to not only not conform to those stereotypes, crush them. CRUSH."
He paused for a moment to take a sip from his coffee.
"And sweet solstice, if you want to have a food fight then do so in a manner that is not disrespectful to the house elves who spend all day preparing for feasts like these as well as the countless other deeds they perform on a daily basis that go unnoticed by most. Which is why ALL of you will be required to show some sort of appreciation for the house elves."
The man was no house elf activity, but the creatures DID help keep the castle clean and that was to be respected and appreciated.
"And no, that was not an invitation to start throwing your breakfasts at each other," he clarified. JUST to be safe because Merlin help him if they did not make it through this meeting because the prefects had important things to discuss.
"Now, I am sure you have all noticed the banner behind me, but that will be addressed later. Until then, does anyone have any suggestions for what can be done?"
And he supposed questions about the feast were allowed as well, but such thoughts went unsaid. He would rather they dwell on that no longer. ...
It had been a little hard for the Gryffindor to actually LISTEN through all of what Flamsteed spoke of, but he managed to pick out a few things. Throwing feast food was bad, and they needed to do something nice for the elves.
Right.
He actually agreed with what Kaycee said, about the elves being touchy and how they likely would see assistance as an insult. It just wasn't for the elves. Zeke peered over in Amur's direction, he was sure she had a lot to say on the matter so he wasn't going to support the sentiment out loud. The girl was a time-bomb waiting to go off on the matter of house-elf welfare. WHY were they even starting this discussion?!
...
Zeke was distracted however, by Timmy's apparent dislike for the term Gryffindoring. Personally he thought it could be worse, and it wasn't necessarily a bad thing. Still, he listened, blowing annoyingly into the back of her hair and ears occasionally. That's what you got for invading his space, not that she wasn't welcome. She was. "I don't know about cooking for them," Zeke chimed in, because cooking was too much effort and he'd never done it, "but we could maybe, oh I don't know... say thank you when we se them?" There was a genius idea. "Or leave them thank you notes? Like: Hey, great job on washing my socks, you're a top notch house-elf!" ... Yeah? He thought it was legit.
