Lovely™ | Captain Hurted | Ariana's Bane | Resident Antagonist | Unparalleled Delight At last, Daxton removed one of the 'ears' of the earmuffs, so he could hear what Dot might have to say about his suggestion.
As it happened, he had not even intended to be rude that time. That the smelly old ugly lady had simply gone astray while en route to its home with the rest of the creatures was a genuine theory of his. Daxton looked back into the Hall now, to see the whatever-it-was right up at the staff dais; no chance at all could they ignore it by this point. The smell alone would make sure of that.
A person, though? Maybe it was that it was just a particularly aesthetically insulting individual. Cal had said that it was a hag during their encounter on the train... but then Cal was actually rather dim, and had also declared that he initially thought that it was Daxton's mother. That part had been particularly confusing, as Cal had never met Daxton's mother, but the Slytherin boy had provided no further explanation. In fact, he had attempted to beat a hasty retreat soon after.
Daxton looked blankly at Dot, considering the Slytherin prefect's words about hags-who-preferred-to-be-called-crones, and who ate children. Naturally. He did not have much time to consider the matter before Dot bid him farewell - at least, Daxton was fairly certain that he was the Blue Eyes in question. He blinked, trying with little success to decipher her comment about his chin, before looking once more into the Great Hall.
During a long moment staring up at the staff table, Daxton finally uncovered his mouth and nose to draw in a slightly-less-than-refreshing breath. Another moment later, and the Ravenclaw glanced again at the House tables, then abruptly turned and took his leave, heading for the staircase as he pull the earmuffs down to hang around his neck - he would not be needing them for now. No Feast for him. Daxton was going to make the most of an empty and silent common room and dormitory while he had the chance.
Before another hag could come along and spread its odour around. |
