He sat near a new student (Azura), about to offer a welcome when he heard her speak. "It is," he said by way of explanation, taking the seat beside her. "That's the Grey Lady. She's our House Ghost. I'm Thornton, by the way. Welcome to Ravenclaw"
He nodded in greeting as the Grey Lady moved along. "Good evening, Lady," he said with a smile. "How was your summer?"
Azura turned her bright purple eyes to the older boy who had sat next to her and she swallowed a bit nervously! EEEK! She bit her lip a little before composing herself and managing a small nervous smile.
"Thank you, I had heard about it." She said as she managed to keep her hands on the table and not in her black hair!
"I'm Azura Kennedy, it's nice to meet you Thornton and thank you. It's very nice to be here!" It felt like it had been ages in coming, but she was finally here! Ravenclaw! She was ready!!
"You are a prefect? Congratulations." She said kindly as she noticed his badge.
"Is there anything I should know about the house?" She asked him curiously.

I'm looking forward to what this year will bring." He remembered how last term had a breakfast feast outside, with games throughout the year. He hoped this year would have just as much fun in store.
The teen was enjoying this year already. He was opening up, making friends, and even laughing with his house mates. Before the food was put on the table, he had made two new friends, and spoken to The Grey Lady. It was amazing to see how hard he was trying to be a more social person.
Azura leaned back a bit and her purple eyes peered around Jasper as she noticed another older boy greet him! She blinked at him before smiling a little and introducing herself.
"Hi, I'm Azura." She said with a smile as she waved at him. Any friend of Jazz's could be hers right?
Right! She was going to go with that!
Besides,the more people she knew.. the better!

Overhearing two first years talking about her Helena smiled over at them interjecting to answer the boy's question. Azura's purple eyes went wide as the Grey Lady moved over to her and Jazz and she bit her lip as she explained to Jasper what she was.
"I'm Azura Kennedy, It's very nice to meet you, Lady Ravenclaw." Was that all right? Could she call her that? She hoped she could!!
She had never really spoken to a ghost before!

Jasper grinned as he looked around, nodding at what Azura what saying. There were so many people. Despite being pretty shy in most situations, he was certain that he would be able to make himself a couple of friends!
Her next comment once again caught him off guard. His eyes immediately shot to the girl that was sitting at his side looking at her in confusion. "Of course I want to be your friend," he repeated the sentiment, smiling at the purple eyed girl. He almost moved her hand to his back to try to give her some comfort, but he hesitated. After a few moments he did go through with the movement, trying to control the blush that he knew would come anyway.

Azura managed a small smile at Jazz as she tried to calm down, really she wasn't going to keep any friends this way, all this panicking!!
She looked over at him as his gaze shot to her and she bit her lip a little and shrugged, she didn't want to explain to him right now what was going on in her mind, perhaps later in the common room!
She was just scared that was all.
Scared she was going to lose her friend.. and unsure of why he meant to much to her!!
"I'm glad to hear it." She said softly as she let out a breath she hadn't realized she had been holding.. His smile was fwoopering her mind again and she felt slightly mushy.. She gave him another warm smile, trying to calm down..
When she felt his hand on her back, she looked down at the table and bit her lip a little.. He was comforting her! And it was all she could do to not burst into tears!!
She finally turned to look at him,
"Thanks Jazz." She whispered up to him.
"I'll talk to you later about what's up all right?" Right now, in the middle of the din of people and noise, was not the best place for a full conversation!
